Actually learn how to do your own makeup — with your own kit, techniques adapted to your features, and the personalized advice of a working makeup artist. Beginners fully welcome.
The SoBeauty's Home approach
In Geneva, many makeup courses follow a fixed format: 10 people around a trainer, products you don't own, techniques that work on others but not on you. At SoBeauty's Home, lessons are individual or in very small groups (max 4), with your own kit, and calibrated to your morphology. The goal isn't to transform you but to give you practical foundations to do your own makeup confidently the next morning — and every morning after.
No prior level required. Most participants arrive with very little experience — often just mascara, lipstick and good will. They leave with a complete routine they've mastered from the next day.
Two typical profiles: people who want to finally master their daily makeup without spending 30 minutes every morning; and those who master the basics but get stuck on a specific technique (eyeliner, contouring, smoky, mature eyelid). Some participants also come in preparation for a professional shift (TV, public presentations, return to work after a break).
Special case: brides-to-be who have decided to do their own makeup on the day — see our dedicated Bridal Makeup page for the specific wedding format.
A typical lesson outline
An individual lesson lasts 2h30. It starts with 15 minutes of exchange: your current routine, what works and what doesn't, your goals (everyday look, evening look, specific occasion), your general style.
Next comes a quick morphological diagnosis: eye shape (almond, round, droopy), brow position, skin type, areas to enhance or balance. Soraya shares techniques adapted to your face — not a generic protocol.
Then guided practice: Soraya does one half of the face while commenting on each gesture, you reproduce on the other half under her direct correction. You immediately see the difference and understand why. This method is radically more effective than a demo where you don't touch the brushes.
The session ends with 15 minutes of recap: Soraya gives you a personalized sheet (printed or emailed) with your typical routine, the products used and the points of attention for your face.
Beginner or advanced lesson?
Beginner Lesson (2h30, 200 CHF) — For those starting from zero or close to it. We cover: skincare prep, choosing and applying foundation, concealer, brow enhancement, mascara, and an adapted lipstick. By the end of the lesson, you master an "everyday" look you can recreate alone.
Intermediate Lesson (2h30, 200 CHF) — For those who have a routine but want refinement. We deepen the eye (soft smoky, eye enhancement without heaviness), the complexion (light contouring, placed blush), and we build an "evening" look from your daily routine.
Advanced Lesson (3h, 250 CHF) — For those who master the basics and want to unlock a specific technique. Cut crease, halo eye, graphic eyeliner, mature or droopy eyelid enhancement, very intense smoky. Soraya adapts the program to your request.
Duo format (2 people, 280 CHF total) or trio (3 people, 360 CHF) possible — practical to come with a friend, teenage daughter, or organize a mini-session among loved ones.
Difference from a classic makeup service
A lesson and a makeup service are two radically different services — frequent confusion.
Makeup service (your wedding day, an evening, a photoshoot): Soraya does your makeup herself with her own long-lasting products. You don't touch the brushes. It's a delivered service, not transmission.
Makeup lesson: it's exactly the opposite. You hold the brushes, you use your own kit, and you learn to reproduce alone. Transmission is the goal.
The two services are complementary. Many brides combine: a lesson a few months before the wedding (to master day-of touch-ups and post-wedding makeup on honeymoon), and a makeup service on the wedding morning (to free their attention on the day). Same on the professional side: a lesson to acquire daily autonomy, punctuated by a service before an important event.
